In the Bible, Jesus demonstrates the way God loves, trusts, and values children and how we can learn from them. At Spring Kids we are passionate about empowering children to grow in love and knowledge of Jesus Christ so that they can be confident in their faith and compassionate, wise, and humble leaders.

We also believe that most faith learning happens in the home. So our job is to reinforce the teaching and discipling that parents are doing in the home. If you would like help to be better equipped to disciple your children, we are here to help! The Middle Years group follows the sermon series so that parents and children can talk together about what they are learning.

We use age-appropriate interactive teaching strategies, games, singing, acting, and multimedia to reinforce our learning from God’s Word. We have team games and incentives for memorising Bible verses each week. We have loads of fun because we know that the joy of the Lord is our strength! (Psalm 28:7) We also love drama at Spring Kids and often explore our God-given creativity by writing and making short improv plays, videos, and skits. And we do an end-of-year play which is presented at Christmas.

Early Years: 2-4 Year Olds

  • The first 5 years of life are full of crucial, life-directing learning. We place a lot of value on the teaching that happens gently and lovingly in these early years. Here the children learn that church is a safe, fun place where they learn about God’s love, prayer, the Bible, and God’s family, the church. This is not glorified baby-sitting! This is where the foundations of the faith are laid. We love these little ones!

Middle Years

  • As their understanding grows, we begin to use more active learning and multimedia, and we introduce team incentives for memorising God’s Word. They are divided into House Groups for some learning, prayer, and sharing times, introducing a culture of cross-generational discipleship. While other times, they are with their same-age peers for learning which can be more age-specific. We have children in

    • Grades 1/2
    • Grades 3/4

Older Years

  • We have just introduced a group for our young teens and tweens (Grades 5-8). This group aims to transition them through this difficult life stage, giving them a faithful group of older peers and leaders they can talk to about their growing questions and uncertainties. There is a lot of research that indicates that this age-group need positive peer groups and role-models. This group meets in the loft and have snacks and work through video-based Bible studies such as Youth Alpha.
