Our Wellspring vision, “Life with Jesus“, helps point to our destination. Our values, “Belong / Believe / Grow / Share”, guide the character of our journey. Our strategies, ministries and leadership build roads to get us there.
You can view our Annual Report 2021 here. Budget 2022 & Audited Financials 2021 here. Strategy Group Update here. Minutes for last year’s AGM and Agenda for next week’s AGM can be found here. Nomination forms can be found here and are due for return to the office Sunday August 15th.
As our Annual General Meeting season approaches, you are invited to two special events being held on AGM weekend that will help us pause to reflect and celebrate: what a fruitful and stretching year it has been! And, let’s keep going.
Rewind: our Wellspring Family Worship Night, Saturday August 21st from 5pm onwards. We rewind to praise God for His grace over 2020-21, with a night of testimony, old school worship songs, food and being Jesus’ family together.
We are really keen to share testimonies of God’s goodness and grace from the past 12 months here at Wellspring. If you have something you’d like to share please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can share these stories of God’s hand in your life with the broader Wellspring community in written form in the lead up to the event. You may be invited to share your testimony on the night itself.
To give you an idea of the evening’s events it’s going to look a little like this:
5-6pm: worship and testimonies
6-6:30pm: dinner (soup & bread)
6:30-7:30pm: worship and testimonies
7:30pm: supper (scones & hot drinks)
We welcome your RSVP to the event because it will help with catering.
To get you in the mood, we have a playlist of some of the fantastic songs we’ll be worshipping to on the night. Check it out on Spotify.
After our REWIND evening we’ll be looking forward to coming together the next day, AGM Sunday, August 22nd, at our four usual service times: 8am/10am/2pm/5:30pm.
We press onward to more of what God has in store for our life with Jesus.
Come to the 12noon meeting, to elect leaders (Parish Council, Warden, Synod Representative and Nomination Committee) and to consider financial investments for our year ahead. A Zoom broadcast will be accessible for the meeting (link to come). If you’re on our parish roll you will receive an email about voting online on the day for the to-be-elected roles.
What are these roles?
A suitable Parish Council member represents the wider church, in particular their home congregation, and joins with the Rector in “ensuring the affairs of the Parish are properly conducted”. More importantly, a Parish Council member is committed to life with Jesus for themselves, as they demonstrate a passion for the vision and welfare of Wellspring.
A suitable Warden will fit the above description also, as well as having a greater degree of responsibility in the spiritual discernment and welfare of Wellspring Parish (our people and property).
A suitable Synod Representative commits to attending the annual parliament-style meeting of all Anglican parishes and agencies, over a three year term. They join with the Rector in representing Wellspring to the wider Anglican Diocese of Tasmania, taking their part in the mission of “a church for Tasmania, making disciples of Jesus”. Wellspring Synod Representatives also sit on Parish Council as full members.
A suitable Nomination Committee member will be called on if/when the Rector of Wellspring’s position becomes vacant. They will need to be a maturing disciple of Jesus, who is familiar with Wellspring’s strengths and weaknesses, and is willing to work with Diocesan representatives to bring a recommendation of candidates to the Bishop to be the next Senior Pastor/Rector of Wellspring.
You can download the nomination form here. Or pick up a hard copy form on Sunday. Nomination forms need to be returned to the Office by 15th August 2021.
